What the color of your urine means

Food can alter urine’s appearance. So can medicine and illness, such as an infection.
In general, colorless urine means you drink a lot of water, maybe too much if it is like this daily. Pale straw-colored to transparent yellow urine means you are well hydrated. Dark yellow to amber-colored urine may mean you are dehydrated. But dark yellow urine could also indicate liver disease. Milky or cloudy urine that smells could indicate a urinary tract infection.
Mind your pee and its clues, and see an urologist when in doubt about the meaning of your urine’s color.
