Women with kidney stones more likely to develop CKD

392373_268417476599562_758327877_nAn analysis of health data of approximately 5,900 individuals found that women with a history of kidney stones were 1.8 times more likely to developĀ  chronic kidney disease (CKD) and three times more likely to need dialysis than women who do not have a history of stones. Although men were also included in the study, researchers found no significant association between kidney stones and CKD. The study was published online in The Journal of Urology. It used datea from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES).
